Great Grindhouse films part 2

Why it's...

ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE SS

The film starts with this message.

"The film you are about to see is based upon documented fact. The atrocities shown were conducted as 'medical experiments' in special concentration camps throughout Hitler's Third Reich. Although these crimes against humanity are historically accurate, the characters depicted are composites of notorious Nazi personalities; and the events portrayed, have been condensed into one localty for dramatic purposes. Because of its shocking subject matter, this film is restricted to adult audiences only. We dedicate this film with the hope that these heinous crimes will never occur again".
HERMAN TRAEGER, Producer

Dyanne Thorne stars as Ilsa the warden of a Nazi concentration camp. Ilsa’s whole thing seems to be doing very horrible experiments on the prisoners and having lots of sex…lots of sex.

Seems Ilsa’s scientific doings are to prove that women have a higher tolerance for pain then men. As this is going on She also has a fling with a new male prisoner. Wolfe (Gregory Knoph) an American POW who’s really good in the sack.

One of my favorite things about this film, besides the rampant craziness is the fact that it was filmed secretly on the sets of Hogan’s Heroes after hours.
Perhaps the craziest form of torture Ilsa inflicts on her female prisoners is…is shaving their privates. Not too oblivious with the fetishism.

This movie can still be quite shocking now as it was then. But all in all at its core it’s a fun B-movie. If you can get past the gore and subject matter, you’ll have a good time.

Great Grindhouse films part 1

These days everybody is making a list of their favorite exploitation flicks. So I guess I’ll jump on the bandwagon and offer up my favorite examples of grindhouse fun over the next few days.

I’ll start it off with…

Hell of the Living Dead- First a little history. I had this video game magazine years ago were the creator of the Resident Evil games said one of his big influences in making the first game was a film called Dome of the dead. Since I’ve never heard of such a film…I’m guess this was a mistake and they meant Dawn of the dead. But man one could only guess what dome would be if it were a real film? Bio dome meets Day of the dead…undead Pauly Shore?

Anyway that brings us to this film Hell of the Living Dead, or as me and my friend call it- you guessed it- Dome of the dead. There’s no real dome but there’s plenty of stock footage of wonderful nature stuff. See a spider monkey swing from tree to tree. See elephants do stuff. But in between the nature footage is a story about a something called "Operation Sweet Death." That goes horribly wrong. Team of soldiers is sent to investigate. What they find besides all the animals running about are gut munching zombies, cross dressing soldiers and cats bursting out of an old women’s stomach. Directed by the great Bruno Mattei.

Oops in the hills...

From NBC :Holtsville, New York

PG-RATED MOVIES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MAKE PARENTS AND THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN SCREAM AND RUN OUT OF THE THEATER. BUT THERE WAS A MIX-UP THURSDAY AT THE ISLAND 16 MULTIPLEX IN HOLTSVILLE, NEW YORK. INSTEAD OF CUEING UP THE P-G RATED MOVIE "THE LAST MIMZY," SOMEONE ROLLED THE R-RATED MOVIE "THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2". IMAGINE THE SHOCK AS PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN WATCHED A CHAINED, NAKED WOMAN GIVING BIRTH TO AN APPARENT MUTANT CREATURE. SOME 50 PEOPLE RAN FROM THE THEATER SCREAMING BEFORE THE STAFF COULD STOP IT. THE THEATER HAS APOLOGIZED AND IS WORKING TO MAKE SURE IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
